I am a family physician with a special interest in sports medicine. I have obtained the following training:
BSc (Three year) in Physiology and Pharmacology with Honours and Great Distinction: University of Saskatchewan, 2011-2014
MD (medical school training): University of Saskatchewan, 2014-2018
Family Medicine Residency: University of British Columbia, Okanagan South (Penticton/Summerland) Program, 2018-2020
Sports and Exercise Medicine Fellowship: University of British Columbia: 2021-2022
I have a keen interest in promoting healthy lifestyle for good physical and mental health. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", and I am a strong believer in the importance of lifestyle in preventing/mitigating many chronic health issues that plague our society. I thoroughly enjoy my work in sports and exercise medicine, but have worked in a variety of settings throughout my career to this point and have yet to find an area within which healthy lifestyle does not apply.
There are not really any sports that I don't enjoy or haven't tried at one point or another, but my favorites are definitely hockey, football, baseball, and triathlon. I am also an avid backpacker, and hiker.
I created this website during my sports medicine training to compile resources and prepare for my eventual transition into my own practice.
